Project Details

Global Women Development Promoters (GLOWDEP) in collaboration with the Ghana Poultry Project (GPP) organized a training workshop for the Women in Poultry Business in the Greater Accra Region.

This workshop specifically targeted women to equip them with the skills to engage in advocacy and policy influencing. This was a follow-up to similar workshops organized in the operational areas of the Ghana Poultry Project (GPP).

The workshop took place on Thursday, 13th December, 2018 at the GLOWDEP Head-Office in Accra.

In attendance were Ghana Poultry Project, Women in Poultry Farming (WIP), Apex Body of Women in the Poultry Value Chain (WIPVaC-Apex), Egg Sellers Association of Ghana (ESSAG) etc.

The sessions tackled topics such as Overview of Policy Influencing and Advocacy, Steps and Principles in Policy Influencing, Policy Influencing and Planning, Strategy and Steps and Negotiation.

“As people within the poultry business and providing services to meet the nutritional requirement of the nation, it is critical to speak on the issues that can help maintain or improve these services through advocacy. Advocacy and Policy Influencing are powerful tools which can determine the outcomes of businesses.” – Mrs. Victoria Norgbey (Executive Director, GLOWDEP)
