Program Officer

Manuela is a highly motivated and passion driven person with good knowledge in social work and community development, and has acquired lots of skills in the WASH sector. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Lucknow and a B.A. (honours) degree in Sociology and Social Work from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Manuela began her professional career as an Assistant Extension Services Officer with the Greater Accra regional office of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA). She has a first-hand experience in monitoring of WASH facilities provided by DANIDA in the Volta region with the Maintenance, Operations and Monitoring (MOM) unit of CWSA.

Manuela was part of the SANIPATH project with TREND Ghana funded by the Bill Gates Foundation where she worked in various capacities including Data Collection officer and Focus Group Discussion facilitation. She was also part of a team of individuals trained by a team of Experts from the Public health Department of Emory University in the Atlanta. Manuela is also a trained facilitator of Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in the fight against Open Defecation. Manuela was very instrumental in the activities of CONNIWAS before and during the recently held MOLE Conference in Accra.

Manuela is a highly motivated Public Administration professional with strong organisational and administrative support abilities including adherence to time, deadlines and documentation. She also has good knowledge in social work and community development, and has acquired lots of skills in the sanitation and public health sectors.

Manuela is able to negotiate and solve problems efficiently with strong analytical, conceptual and pragmatic skills.  She  has  the  propensity  to  quickly  grasp  and  learn  new  systems  and  procedure while  committed  to  quality  and  excellence.  As a strong  believer  in  delivering  outputs,  she  has enjoyed  working  with  all  classes  of  people  over  the  years  and  this  has  also  enhanced  her  interpersonal relations, especially her high regard for authority.
